The United Way
The United Way of America is a national organization with approximately 1,350 community-based organizations that are dedicated to improving lives by mobilizing the caring power of communities.
In its role as America’s foremost charity, the United Way raises and invests significant resources to build strong, healthy communities. Their systems of volunteer-based organizations bring diverse groups of people and resources together to address the most urgent issues facing communities today.
Through community partnerships with businesses, government policy-makers, financial institutions, organized labor, schools, community development corporations, voluntary, religious and neighborhood associations, the United Way is able to mobilize resources for critical community initiatives.
