Wireless phones can be donated to the Wireless Foundation’s DONATE A PHONE® CALL TO PROTECT® campaign. This charitable cause collects wireless phones to benefit victims of domestic violence. PCD encourages consumers to donate their old wireless phones to this cause, which uses proceeds from phone sales to fund agencies that fight domestic violence and supports the educational efforts of the Wireless Foundation. In addition, refurbished wireless phones are made available to violence victims for emergencies. All donated phones are tax deductible. Click here for more information on how to donate your phone to DONATE A PHONE® CALL TO PROTECT®.
Before returning any wireless device for recycling purposes, please remember to terminate your service on the device, clear the device of any stored information and remove the device’s SIM card, if it has one (please contact your wireless provider to find out if your device contains a SIM card and for assistance on how to remove it).
All wireless phone handsets, wireless personal digital assistants (PDAs), wireless computer cards and wireless accessories (e.g., batteries, chargers, cradles, cables, headsets, earpieces, clips, cases, etc.) can be recycled under the Wireless…The New Recyclable program.
Used wireless devices and accessories that have been returned to participating Wireless…The New Recyclable program members will either be reused, refurbished or recycled. PCD follows all program guidelines for the collection, transportation and refurbishment of wireless devices and utilizes a compliant third-party source to disassemble wireless devices for recycling and materials recovery.
